Driftless Kitchens is an independent, woman-owned Design Studio based in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. We offer a unique, custom kitchen design experience tailored to each client and their particular needs.
Our intimate, no-pressure setting paired with our collaborative and highly creative design process ensures that your kitchen project is customized perfectly for you; from a functional and aesthetic design, to materials selection and supply, and even kitchen remodel construction coordination and management.
As a full-service vendor, we supply custom and semi-custom cabinetry for your kitchen, along with countertops, cabinet hardware, and even lighting solutions for your kitchen project.
our process
After our initial consultation, Driftless Kitchens will prepare a Design Agreement and request a retainer to proceed (this is based on the size/scope of your project and typically starts at $2,000). Once retained, we will visit your home and take complete measurements directly into our 3D software. We will document your existing space, note relevant conditions such as structure and mechanicals, and transpose our 3D survey into two-dimensional drawings. Simultaneously we will hold a pre-design meeting to define the project scope, functional and design outcomes, and aesthetic goals.
Next we move into conceptual design phase: Based on the project scope and goals, we will design multiple concepts (i.e, simply developed design schemes) which we will present to you at our first design meeting. These are usually developed in 3D. From there, we move into design development phase in which we scrutinize, revise, and improve the design until we’ve achieved our goal. We will refine and add detail to the 3D model to reflect design decisions, and prepare detailed two-dimensional line drawings as well.
After the design is finalized, we will specify cabinetry for order, prepare additional plans (such as electrical) as needed and/or desired, and assist with material selection and supply.
In addition to supplying cabinetry, we offer a variety of selections of countertops, decorative and functional hardware, lighting, tile, and specialty items like metal and glass shelving, aluminum bases, and architectural panels.
